A stunning hotel in the heart of fashionable Beverly Hills. The Regent Beverly Wilshire hotel completed a $35 million renovation project in 1999. Guest rooms are located on 2 wings: the Wilshire Wing (traditional elegance) and the Beverly Wing (modern deco-style). The Regent Beverly Wilshire is legendary in this    world within a city. Facing Rodeo Drive and the Hollywood Hills, The Regent Beverly Wilshire is  situated where every visitor to Los Angeles wants to   be -- a stroll away from the world's most exclusive  shops, galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by the stars. A convenient distance from everything, from  the airport to the studios to the Pacific. Spacious   rooms and bathrooms, four award-winning all-day choices for dining, refreshment or entertainment. The facilities for   some of the finest presentations and events in Los Angeles. The pampering of a complete health spa. Service for  which The Regent is world-renowned.  Everything is by the book at the RBW: Clients are addressed name (last of course); the word “no” is a definite no-no and every detail, down to room service, is meticulous. Breakfast is served on a wheeled-table, not those awful trays, which is placed where YOU suggest. Ice is delivered by room service, not by machine (no charge) and everything one would expect a grand-luxe hotel to offer is alive and well at the Regent Beverly Wilshire.
One meal only? Do lunch in stunning Peninsula’s gourmet restaurant, THE  BELVEDERE (9882 Little Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills (310/788-2306). Tucked into one of L.A.'s poshest hotels, this is a spacious, elegant restaurant that is ideal for quiet conversation. Traditional dishes such as rack of lamb, roast duck and beef tenderloin are given marvelous twists, as well as the signature potato-crusted Chilean seabass with an orange reduction. Not only is there a gifted chef in the kitchen, the garden not only provides a view of the L.A. hills, but hot and cold running screen stars, deal-makers, and wanna-be-s. The food is some of the best in L.A., and high tea has become an L.A. tradition. There’s a house limo that will take VIP types where ever they want to go VIPING.

A weekend in the country? I’ll take L.A. any day, which is why I rate L.A., the Beverly Wilshire and The Belvedere  A+ on my Travel & Restaurant Report Card.
